This seminar is an introduction to trading with foodservice channels in the UK and will feature an overview of the different channels, key players and options for wholesaler routes to market.
Attendees will get an idea of how they could estimate the size of prize, understand which products, formats and timing may work best and have the starting point from which to plan to win new business in the UK foodservice market.

The seminar is aimed at managing directors, marketing and sales directors and senior sales or marketing managers. Those that have some experience of supplying the UK market but believe they can do more and also those who are looking to supply the UK market for the first time.
Speakers:
Steve Dixon, Today’s Foodservice Group: Steve is the head of the Today’s Foodservice Group One which is a division of Nisa-Today’s Holdings. Agreeing terms and promotional deals and giving purchasing guidance to 55 independent foodservice wholesalers across the UK, the Today’s Group understand how wholesalers provide routes to the foodservice market and what products work well for them.
Dan Shaw and Andrew Coulson from Cognosco Marketing: Dan and Andy specialise in helping brand owners and manufacturers introduce products to the right buyers in the right channels in the right way. From wholesalers to end-users, by developing simple, actionable contact strategies, Cognosco act as a resource to national account managers and also provide field sales resources in the UK. Dan and Andy are going to give an overview of key foodservice trade channels.
Ashley Cairns, CGA Strategy: Ashley has worked in the UK licensed trade for 25 years and is known by some as ‘Brains’. He is a director of CGA Strategy which has the name, address, trading styles and much additional information of all (135,000) licensed outlets in the UK. In addition CGA carry out continuous market research through 5600 outlets and retrieve the menus for 130 chains on a quarterly basis. Ashley will talk about the opportunities, structure and how to sell your brand to the UK On-Trade (pubs, hotels, restaurants).
Peter Rodgers, Euro Shellfish: Peter has significant experience in the licensed trade having previously been a sales manager for C&C Group PLC. Peter joined Euro Shellfish in June 2009 and has been assisting the company to develop new sales into the UK Foodservice sector. Peter will discuss the Pitfalls and Opportunities he has found whilst trying to break into this market.
